Singapore economy recovering, but jobs outlook uncertain

A ManpowerGroup survey shows only 19 per cent of employers intend to hire in this quarter.

SINGAPORE – Singapore’s economy is on the mend after suffering its worst recession last year but the employment outlook remains clouded.

Even after encouraging data for November, there are enough reasons to be cautious about any surge in hiring intentions, at least until global travel can safely resume.
