It’s not just a sports media rights distribution project. Aleph is an out-and-out global digital advertising and fintech service provider. It won the official distribution rights of 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Philippines. Its publicity says it wants to upgrade local fan experience. The real core is testing a new monetization model for cross-border media traffic.
The 2026 expanded World Cup has 48 teams. It has a record 104 matches hosted across Canada, Mexico and the US. The tournament will kick off for Filipino fans on June 12, and the final is held on July 20. Aleph has officially activated its first-of-its-kind multichannel distribution model. It will arrange more than 5000 pieces of exclusive content and full match distribution.
The model is designed to cover all types of local fans. Free users can watch 40 marquee matches live for free on Aleph Arena’s YouTube channel. Short recaps, behind-the-scenes clips and localized commentary will be posted on TikTok and X. It invites local digital creators to produce the exclusive daily program *Football Natin ‘To!*. Paid subscribers can watch all 104 matches live and on-demand via WCTV by Aleph Arena on BlastTV.
Traditional sports rights transactions are usually sold to one local large platform. The license fee is extremely high, and most of the profit goes to the upstream rights holder. Aleph uses a layered distribution strategy that combines free social content and paid full match viewing. It first gathers traffic from public social platforms, then converts part of the traffic to paid subscribers. It also reserves a large amount of ad inventory for its own core ad business.
The Philippines is a typical emerging sports market. It has a large number of young fans who are used to fragmented mobile content consumption. Very few users are willing to pay for a full single tournament subscription. Aleph’s model exactly fits the local consumption habit. It does not follow the traditional closed broadcast path. It turns a one-time copyright purchase into continuous user operation.
This multi-layered sports rights distribution model will become the industry standard for emerging markets within three years.
